A Little Luxury: Composite Decking Installed in Oadby, Leicestershire
August 13, 2015
This transformation has been done to an end of terrace property in Oadby, Leicestershire, completed in July 2015. Originally, an old timber deck existed in the same position adjoining the property (see photos below). As the owner had covered the main area of the timber deck with artificial grass, the timber boards including the joist structure rotted over time as rain water sat on the covering and the whole deck had to be replaced.
The owner found Fiberon through the internet and after doing their research (comparing different composite decking materials out there), decided on Fiberon’s GoodLife decking boards and Missions railing system. They wanted something that will last and will look good over time, without lots of effort and time to maintain it. They fedback that it was easy to wash away bird dropping so far.
The owner chose grey decking boards to match the modern interior and decor of the house and black railing to break from the white UPVC soffits on the roof. As the deck is raised to the same level as the doorway of the house from the garden grounds, the underneath of the deck which has been paved, is cleverly used for storage, accessible by tapping open the side panel (indicated in red box in photo 3).
The photos we shot during our aftersale follow-up visit do not do justice to the splendid deck. If you are interested in having a similar design deck and would like to view it, we will ask permission from the owners. For their trouble, we will thank them with a M&S voucher if you do end up buying from us (terms & conditions apply).
